Tracks you may want to follow when building your career in information Security.

This does not mean you need all of them, these are just guide lines to show you how things go, ;)

1- B.Sc. in computer science, information technology, or other related sciences. --> M.Sc. --> Ph.D. with your thesis concentrating on information security.

2- Information Technology Institutes which may give you training in Information technology or closely related material.

3- Certificates: SANS about 12 cert. , CISSP , Security Plus, Cisco CCIE (security). Training centers provide some of these certificates.

4- Vendor based Certificates: Checkpoint, ISS, McAfee, Symantec, .......

5- Learn "How to build": be a programmer, be an administrator. you need to know the details of the industry you will be protecting.

6- Learn how to Hack: Listen to the underground communities and share with them. Learn how to break into systems. only the mind of a hacker could save.
